Day 5. A badass female fighter: Jeanne Hachette  (15th century)

The Duke of Burgundy puts your town under siege with only 300 soldiers to defend you? No problem when you have a bunch of fierce women fighting alongside you on the walls of Beauvais.

The fierces one of all was a certain Jeanne. When an enemy soldier planted a flag on the wall, she attacked him with an axe. Then she threw soldier into the moat, broke the flag in two and hurled it after him.
